Easter 2017
Two weeks before Easter our family tradition is to do "resurrection eggs". Each night, the kids find an egg hidden around the house. Their excitement for this moment is incredible, like it's an amazing treasure to be found. Inside the egg are small trinkets that represent Jesus and his journey through the days and weeks leading up to his resurrection. A donkey, a rock, a nail, a piece of cloth, etc. We sit together before we tuck them into bed and read about each step Jesus took for his amazing gift and what he did for us. Every year, reading to my children makes me feel so grateful for salvation, what God planned for each one of us, and Jesus' love for us.
We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter with family this year. The day before Easter, we joined the San Diego Firefighters egg hunt in Mission Bay with all of the cousins. The day was absolutely beautiful by the water, where the kids had fun hunting for eggs, playing with one another, and enjoying all the festivities that were offered. Thank you, my two brothers! We hope we get to do this every year with them now. On Easter Day we spent time with family and enjoyed all of the celebration. As the kids get older, it's amazing to see them understand what each holiday is celebrated for. Easter Sunday and the Spring season always reminds me that we are saved -He is risen and alive!
