Our OutSTANDING Little Girl

Laylie has been crawling everywhere now these days. She also can stand up holding on to everything that is a tad bit higher than she is. One of her favorite things is to stand in her crib waiting and looking at the door for Mommy or Daddy to enter and pull her out of her sleeping spot. She always greets us with a big smile and jumps up and down with delight. How can you not pull her right out of bed and kiss her little cheeks? Man, she is so darn cute! Now that she is standing we had to lower her crib all the way down to the floor and somehow she still manages to get cute little teeth marks on the beautiful crème bed railing. Those little markings will be there forever I must say.

She really enjoys standing in front of the fridge, looking at all the yummy food as I make lunch or dinner. She loves pulling out all of her diapers, wipes and toys out of the toy box and somehow manages to get mommy to pick it all up afterwards. Every little stage is a joy and I am excited to see her continue to grow into the little girl God has made her to be.

I wanted to share a cute short story that happen recently. Laylie bonked her head on one of her toys. I picked her up and snuggled her as she cried. After a long sob and some good tears she leaned over, kissed me back a few times, smiled and went on her way to play with her toys again. A true thank you for making her feel all better. Pure JOY!

The sweet 9 months of life

When I found out I was pregnant with Laylie, every month I would stand by the wall with the same black shirt and the same black sweatpants month by month taking a sweet photo of my belly. Each month my belly would grow bigger and bigger. Now, my tummy has shrunk and now it's time to share with you what I have been taking pictures of now each month…An adorable little baby girl in the same spot and on the same blanket month by month. Each square inch of Laylie is so sweet and perfect. My heart just can’t get enough of her and I can't believe that she is growing up so fast. From a tiny little peanut to a 9 month old baby who is filled with smiles and joy. I know Laylie will enjoy looking back at each photo seeing how she grew from in the tummy to a toddler and the greatest part is I get to watch it all unfold.

Laylie turned 9 months this month and it makes me think she now has reached the same amount of time being in the womb, growing into the little person she is, as she has out in this world.

Capturing Moments as Cousins

My sweet sister Lisa took some adorable pictures of Laylie and my nephew Dugan at the park. We had so much fun making funny faces and jumping up and down to get the two kiddos to smile. Laylie would not smile for the life of us which is so crazy cause that girl smiles 24/7. Lisa still captured some awesome and sweet photos of the two cousins being together.

Side Note: The hat that Laylie wore in the photos is the same hat I wore when I was a little girl.

Enjoy the “oh so cute” pictures….

4th of July Celebration

I love holidays because I get to spend time with family, eat yummy food and celebrate. It has been extra special this year for Jason and I because we get to share it with our sweet little Laylie. This was Laylie’s first 4th of July and I had so much fun getting her dressed up and cooing over her all day long. We had a wonderful time with family this year and we enjoyed every minute of it. To begin our celebration, we started the day off at my parents house for some fun and celebration. We ate a yummy lunch, had great conversation and took lots of pictures. For dinner we headed to Jason’s parents house and they had the most delicious spread of food. BBQ crab legs, ribs, watermelon, corn, potatoes and dessert. Laylie had a blast playing with her cousins. Later that night, as we got into bed, we heard the fireworks going off right at the stroke of 9. Maybe next year we will see them in action and show Laylie what fireworks are all about. What a wonderful first 4th of July for our sweet baby girl.

Our New Backyard

The last few weeks Laylie and I have been going out to our little patio to enjoy a few rays of sunshine. I would have to lay down a picnic blanket on the hard cement because the rest of our yard is taken over with our big palm trees and plants. We would play on the picnic blanket, eat lunch together and Laylie would swing in her swing. She loves being outside, exploring and tasting everything. Tasting…I mean leaves, dirt, pieces of bark and anything she can get her hands on. I don’t quite understand this because I would think these things taste absolutely disgusting but she seems to try and taste them every time we go out to play.

As we were playing one day I got to thinking, “it would be so nice if we had grass.” Grass would be perfect for our baby girl to play on, to lay our picnic blanket on and even for our dog Gypsy to have more room in our backyard. I mentioned this to my most loving and amazing husband and he thought it would be a grand idea. Jason went to work that weekend with my dad, taking out all the plants, digging up all the trees, and scrapping all the dirt. We laid down fresh grown grass and I have to say it is the loveliest backyard for us to enjoy and play in now. It brings a smile my face every time I do the dishes and look out our kitchen window. I know this summer we will be having so much fun enjoying being outside on our lovely grass area. Thank you to the awesome men in my life…Jason and my dad for making a perfect place for Laylie and I to play on and enjoy the sunshine this summer.

Here is the picture before – it is extra messy because they are working and taking out the trees.

Here is the picture after - our grassy picnic and play yard…isn’t it perfect?

Moving and Grooving

It has been pretty calm around the White House these days. Not a whole lot going on and just enjoying each and every day God has given us. I must say, there is 1 new exciting thing that is happening around here. Well, Laylie J is movin and groovin now. She is not just sitting anymore exploring her toys - now she is crawling/scooting all over the place. She notices the smallest little specks on the floor. Laylie goes for anything and everything! She goes for it with all of her might and ability before we intervene. Jas and i try to grab that speck before it goes straight into her mouth. I think I am mopping and vacuuming more than I ever have these days. She now can get to different spots of the house all by herself and get to toys she wants if they are not near by. I just love this stage and it truly is so much fun watching her do new things like exploring this world and watching her little personality come about. We are so blessed to have our little angel and we are soaking up each day with her. Here are some videos and pictures of little Laylie crawling to one of her favorite things…cheerios. Enjoy!

Music to our ears

When Laylie was still growing in my tummy I would touch my round belly and pray over her many times throughout the day. Little prayers like she would be filled up with the Holy Spirit, have an obedient heart, follow her Heavenly Father and so much more. One of the things I wished for her was to have her daddy’s musical talent. Yes, Jason can play any instrument he picks up and has the most amazing voice. While, me on the other hand I will just say I try my hardest and I am truly thankful that I can sit back and enjoy it all.

While I was cooking dinner Laylie displayed that she sure has Jason’s musical talent already at 7 months. Here she is playing the drums with our pots and pans while singing along. Boy, do I love this and I am looking forward to watching her grow more and more. If it is her playing many instruments or maybe none at all what matters most is for her to worship our Savior. Enjoy the photos and video of our little blessing from above playing the drums in the kitchen while mama does her cooking.

What do you know…She really enjoys playing the piano too.

Gone to Georgia and Back

This past week we visited the beautiful land of Georgia and we had the most incredible time. We stayed a full week visiting my family and making memories to the fullest. It brought Jason and I so much joy to share Laylie with all my cousins and she sure did enjoy them too. I think she giggled and smiled more this past week than her seven months of life combined. I must admit, out of the three of us, I think I am having the hardest time adjusting to being home because I no longer have all of the wonderful helping hands every second of the day. It’s now just Jas, Laylie and I again. We loved waking up each morning with my family and being in their presence was the most cherished time.

We did get to indulge on some delicious southern comfort food while we were there – such tasty treats as fried corn nuggets, authentic southern BBQ, Chick-fil-A, Georgia peach ice cream, pecans, and at every meal we drank a nice big cup of sweet tea. Our taste buds went wild and we loved it!

One of my favorite things about Georgia are the houses there. They are the most breathtaking houses you will ever see. They have the most beautiful brick homes, big lush green yards, large vegetable gardens on the side, and wrap around porches. We would drive from place to place and I would just be in the back of the car enjoying the scenery and looking at the cute homes going by. I never knew how beautiful Georgia really was until this trip.

My family is blessed to have one of these houses and we made many memories playing in their 4 acres of beautiful land. We fed their baby chicks, played on their swing set, trampoline, napped in their hammock, got very dizzy on their merry-go-round, went on some beautiful nature walks, and rode bikes around their neighborhood with Laylie in tow. We even broke out my Great Grandpa’s shotgun and shot a few rounds with it!

All in all it was a very wonderful, relaxing, and amazing trip. We are forever grateful to our Georgia family for taking us in and being such gracious hosts. Talk about southern hospitality! We are so looking forward to our next visit.
Here are some captured memories of the time in GA…

Camping For The Weekend

Last weekend was our very first…Camping Trip!!

I have grown up going on vacations and popping a tent where ever the Troncone family landed. I have learned to really enjoy the outdoors, listening to the birds make their noise at 4am, bon-fires and so much more. This time it was our very first camping trip as a married couple and we truly enjoyed ourselves. I had the honor of doing all the packing. Man, you think you would need a moving truck for all the things for camping. A tent, stove, lamp, sleeping bags, clothes, food but it is all worth the time. We headed up to Valley Center which is only 45 minutes from where we live but it seemed like it was far into the woods. We met Jason’s family at the campsite and we had a wonderful weekend with them. Making food, playing games, relaxing and laughing by the fire made some cherished memories. We had a fun and terrific weekend. Here are some photos of our time together…

Here Comes The Teeth...

We have news for you…. Laylie now has 8 teeth!! 4 on top and 4 on bottom. She just turned 6 months, and within 14 days she has perfectly grown 8 of her teeth. Every morning these last two weeks we got her out of her crib and noticed a new tooth popping through her little gums. She has been such a trooper - though I may add that this not such a fun stage in her life. We can tell whenever Laylie is cutting a new tooth because she will wake up around 10pm on the dot, rubbing her gums back and forth with her little hand. There have been lots of nursing, cuddles, and kisses, and she has been amazing through it all. Folks, little Laylie J. will be eating and chewing normal food in no time at all!

If you look closely you can see a tooth. Hopefully, i can get a better picture of all of her teeth soon....

This is where all her teeth do their growing...

Having fun and enjoying life...
