What are little girls made of ???

When Laylie was born, every nurse, every doctor and everyone who visited us at the hospital said that she looked just like her daddy, Jason. Everyone agreed that she had my lips and mouth but everything else on her perfect little face were Jason’s features. As she continues to grow each month we see little things here and there that are just like her mama and papa.

Laylie and Her Mama...

Just Like Her Mama…
Laylie has this personality that absolutely loves to smile all the time, has a joyful heart and loves living life. Yup, I had/have this zest for life.

Laylie loves bugs, dirt and being outdoors. Yup, as a little girl I would spend hours making mud pies, putting salt on snails, dissecting spiders and bugs…oh, what fun!!

Laylie has this feistiness but sweet personality when she wants something. Yup, I had that at times.

Laylie does not have much hair at all. Yup, neither did I.

Laylie has these perfect little toes and has the tiniest little pinky toenail ever. Yup, she has my toes.

Laylie loves babies and kisses them until they are soaking wet with love. Yup, I wanted 100 kids when I was little because I loved babies and kids with my whole heart.

Laylie adores dogs and gets this overwhelming excitement for animals. Yup, I love animals and have always had a dog growing up.

Everything about Laylie is just so PERFECT AND LOVELY!!!

Laylie and Her Papa...

Just Like Her Papa…

Laylie has this sensitive and tender heart that loves everyone. Yup, her daddy was/is like this.

Laylie enjoys getting into anything technical and loves typing on the computer, playing with cell phones and the entertainment center. Yup, her daddy loved technical stuff and is now a computer programmer.

Laylie tries hard to obey and listen when told. Yup, her daddy was almost perfect as a child.

Laylie loves music and has this incredible “beat to the music” rhythm. Yes, her daddy had/has a passion for music and can play any interments he picks up.

Laylie is super easy going and does not mind change. Yup, her daddy was cool and calm.

Laylie has these beautiful blue eyes and super fair skin. Yup, that’s her dada.
Everything about Laylie is just so AMAZING AND AWESOME!!!

Laylie may have a few features here and there of Jason and I but she is her own little person. Her own personality, her own way of doing things and everything about her is special. God made every inch of her the exact way He wanted her to be. We are just so grateful that our amazing and awesome Father gave us the most treasured gift that we can't ever thank Him enough for. We are such lucky parents!!

Our treasured time in CO

The Whites just got back from an incredible trip to the wonderful state of Colorado to visit our greatest friends, the Clark family. We had such an amazing and fun trip, and made memories that will last forever.

We got to meet our newest Godson Jed. Tears of joy came over me when I held this perfect little baby. Jason and I have always been at the hospital moments after a Clark baby was born, so I was overjoyed to finally get to hold him in my arms. He is the cutest and the sweetest little baby. I soaked him up for the 4 days we were there, trying to hold him countless hours, smelling his newborn scent which I could smell forever, cuddling him and just loving every minute being with him. What a joy!

We never really knew how truly beautiful Colorado is, where everything is green and there is LAND everywhere. There were cows roaming the grass and barns here and there. You can really see God’s awesome beauty by seeing miles and miles of grass leading up to beautiful big breathtaking mountains. There was even a big thunder and lighting storm before we left, which was fun to experience the true Colorado weather.

Jason spent many hours playing and wrestling with the kids, playing chase and running around the house. Laylie loved being with all the kids and enjoyed every day with them. It did take her a full week to recover from all the fun she had. The first day home I think she was only awake for 3 hours during the day. She was pooped!!

Kacy and I got to spend some wonderful time together talking about life, laughing, crying, and enjoying our time together. Words can’t express how much I love and miss my friend and it made my heart so thrilled that I was able to spend so much time with her. I really can’t wait to see my best friend again because she is a person I love living every step of life with.

We spent a day at a beautiful park and had lunch together. Another day we adventured out and went to this indoor play ground inside “Focus on the Family” where we ran around and enjoyed our time. This place is so fun, I wish they had something like it here….every room was painted and decorated, there was a 3 story slide, and the best part was it was all Christian themed. We all had a blast and Laylie loved it.

We had an incredible time being together going to see their NEW home with 10 acres of land, a barn, two houses and the most beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains. Kacy has this amazing way of making their home feel so warm and welcoming, and I can’t wait to see how her new home will be after she puts all of her special touches in it. There will be some wonderful memories in their new home and we are thrilled that God made it all happen for them. Congratulations!

Joey had all kinds of events planned for Jason and they were always out and about doing something fun. Sunday morning they woke up at 5:30am to hike up this crazy mountain, and they made it all the way to the top. Way to go guys!

Thank you Joey, Kacy, and kids for letting us make some incredible memories with you. We truly had the most fantastic trip. We sure do miss you and cant wait to go back to Colorado and stay in your NEW home someday soon. What a trip to remember!!!!!

Our OutSTANDING Little Girl

Laylie has been crawling everywhere now these days. She also can stand up holding on to everything that is a tad bit higher than she is. One of her favorite things is to stand in her crib waiting and looking at the door for Mommy or Daddy to enter and pull her out of her sleeping spot. She always greets us with a big smile and jumps up and down with delight. How can you not pull her right out of bed and kiss her little cheeks? Man, she is so darn cute! Now that she is standing we had to lower her crib all the way down to the floor and somehow she still manages to get cute little teeth marks on the beautiful crème bed railing. Those little markings will be there forever I must say.

She really enjoys standing in front of the fridge, looking at all the yummy food as I make lunch or dinner. She loves pulling out all of her diapers, wipes and toys out of the toy box and somehow manages to get mommy to pick it all up afterwards. Every little stage is a joy and I am excited to see her continue to grow into the little girl God has made her to be.

I wanted to share a cute short story that happen recently. Laylie bonked her head on one of her toys. I picked her up and snuggled her as she cried. After a long sob and some good tears she leaned over, kissed me back a few times, smiled and went on her way to play with her toys again. A true thank you for making her feel all better. Pure JOY!

The sweet 9 months of life

When I found out I was pregnant with Laylie, every month I would stand by the wall with the same black shirt and the same black sweatpants month by month taking a sweet photo of my belly. Each month my belly would grow bigger and bigger. Now, my tummy has shrunk and now it's time to share with you what I have been taking pictures of now each month…An adorable little baby girl in the same spot and on the same blanket month by month. Each square inch of Laylie is so sweet and perfect. My heart just can’t get enough of her and I can't believe that she is growing up so fast. From a tiny little peanut to a 9 month old baby who is filled with smiles and joy. I know Laylie will enjoy looking back at each photo seeing how she grew from in the tummy to a toddler and the greatest part is I get to watch it all unfold.

Laylie turned 9 months this month and it makes me think she now has reached the same amount of time being in the womb, growing into the little person she is, as she has out in this world.

Capturing Moments as Cousins

My sweet sister Lisa took some adorable pictures of Laylie and my nephew Dugan at the park. We had so much fun making funny faces and jumping up and down to get the two kiddos to smile. Laylie would not smile for the life of us which is so crazy cause that girl smiles 24/7. Lisa still captured some awesome and sweet photos of the two cousins being together.

Side Note: The hat that Laylie wore in the photos is the same hat I wore when I was a little girl.

Enjoy the “oh so cute” pictures….

4th of July Celebration

I love holidays because I get to spend time with family, eat yummy food and celebrate. It has been extra special this year for Jason and I because we get to share it with our sweet little Laylie. This was Laylie’s first 4th of July and I had so much fun getting her dressed up and cooing over her all day long. We had a wonderful time with family this year and we enjoyed every minute of it. To begin our celebration, we started the day off at my parents house for some fun and celebration. We ate a yummy lunch, had great conversation and took lots of pictures. For dinner we headed to Jason’s parents house and they had the most delicious spread of food. BBQ crab legs, ribs, watermelon, corn, potatoes and dessert. Laylie had a blast playing with her cousins. Later that night, as we got into bed, we heard the fireworks going off right at the stroke of 9. Maybe next year we will see them in action and show Laylie what fireworks are all about. What a wonderful first 4th of July for our sweet baby girl.

Our New Backyard

The last few weeks Laylie and I have been going out to our little patio to enjoy a few rays of sunshine. I would have to lay down a picnic blanket on the hard cement because the rest of our yard is taken over with our big palm trees and plants. We would play on the picnic blanket, eat lunch together and Laylie would swing in her swing. She loves being outside, exploring and tasting everything. Tasting…I mean leaves, dirt, pieces of bark and anything she can get her hands on. I don’t quite understand this because I would think these things taste absolutely disgusting but she seems to try and taste them every time we go out to play.

As we were playing one day I got to thinking, “it would be so nice if we had grass.” Grass would be perfect for our baby girl to play on, to lay our picnic blanket on and even for our dog Gypsy to have more room in our backyard. I mentioned this to my most loving and amazing husband and he thought it would be a grand idea. Jason went to work that weekend with my dad, taking out all the plants, digging up all the trees, and scrapping all the dirt. We laid down fresh grown grass and I have to say it is the loveliest backyard for us to enjoy and play in now. It brings a smile my face every time I do the dishes and look out our kitchen window. I know this summer we will be having so much fun enjoying being outside on our lovely grass area. Thank you to the awesome men in my life…Jason and my dad for making a perfect place for Laylie and I to play on and enjoy the sunshine this summer.

Here is the picture before – it is extra messy because they are working and taking out the trees.

Here is the picture after - our grassy picnic and play yard…isn’t it perfect?

Moving and Grooving

It has been pretty calm around the White House these days. Not a whole lot going on and just enjoying each and every day God has given us. I must say, there is 1 new exciting thing that is happening around here. Well, Laylie J is movin and groovin now. She is not just sitting anymore exploring her toys - now she is crawling/scooting all over the place. She notices the smallest little specks on the floor. Laylie goes for anything and everything! She goes for it with all of her might and ability before we intervene. Jas and i try to grab that speck before it goes straight into her mouth. I think I am mopping and vacuuming more than I ever have these days. She now can get to different spots of the house all by herself and get to toys she wants if they are not near by. I just love this stage and it truly is so much fun watching her do new things like exploring this world and watching her little personality come about. We are so blessed to have our little angel and we are soaking up each day with her. Here are some videos and pictures of little Laylie crawling to one of her favorite things…cheerios. Enjoy!

Music to our ears

When Laylie was still growing in my tummy I would touch my round belly and pray over her many times throughout the day. Little prayers like she would be filled up with the Holy Spirit, have an obedient heart, follow her Heavenly Father and so much more. One of the things I wished for her was to have her daddy’s musical talent. Yes, Jason can play any instrument he picks up and has the most amazing voice. While, me on the other hand I will just say I try my hardest and I am truly thankful that I can sit back and enjoy it all.

While I was cooking dinner Laylie displayed that she sure has Jason’s musical talent already at 7 months. Here she is playing the drums with our pots and pans while singing along. Boy, do I love this and I am looking forward to watching her grow more and more. If it is her playing many instruments or maybe none at all what matters most is for her to worship our Savior. Enjoy the photos and video of our little blessing from above playing the drums in the kitchen while mama does her cooking.

What do you know…She really enjoys playing the piano too.
